My mother wasn’t happy about the doctor recommending medical marijuana for my anxieties.
- I was only fourteen, and she didn’t believe I should use marijuana.
The doctor reminded her it was medical marijuana, but she wasn’t listening. She told the doctor she would watch out for every reaction possible, and at the first sign of a reaction, the medical marijuana was being flushed. My doctor told her to relax, and the medical marijuana was perfectly safe. It surprised me she was even going to purchase medical marijuana for me, but that hadn’t happened yet. Dad told her he would be my medical marijuana caretaker and he would pick it up and give it to me. He wasn’t as finicky about things as mom. Three weeks after starting medical marijuana, I was sitting in my room scratching my arm. I had a mosquito bite, but mom wouldn’t hear it. She called the doctor and told him I was scratching. She thought she had read that medical marijuana could cause people to itch. Although the doctor tried to calm her down, it wasn’t working. My dad looked at my arm, and I could hear him bellowing at the top of his lungs. He told her to hang up the phone and pay attention to what I had told her. I was itching because of a mosquito bite. It had nothing to do with the medical marijuana. I thought mom would show some contrition, but it made her angry. Dad had stopped her from flushing all the medical marijuana and told her she was being silly. She had to stop with all the nonsense about medical marijuana and let it help me with my anxiety.
