I never thought I would be living in my thirties with chronic pain. But unfortunately, that seems to be a common theme for a lot of veterans of foreign wars. Many of the guys that I was stationed with in the Middle East came home with similar disabilities and injuries to their bodies. I think it’s common that many of us experience severe pain on a regular basis. For me the pain is largely in my back and down my left leg. I injured the base of my back and when I walk it presses down on my sciatic nerve causing severe pain. It ends up making my left leg go numb after I’ve been on my feet for a certain period of time. I never thought the pain from this injury would get to this degree. Unfortunately things like Tylenol and Motrin are not sufficient for completely alleviating the pain I get from this condition. That’s why I’ve started using cannabis as a way to treat the pain. I don’t want to get into the habit of using opiate pain medications to treat whatever issues I have. The cannabis works well enough especially if I use high CBD doses along with my regular THC products. Treating pain with cannabis isn’t always easy though. There are a lot of cannabis products that might make you feel high in your head but then you don’t do much for getting rid of any severe or chronic discomfort in your body. Or some kinds of pain that are so strong that even the best strains of cannabis don’t do enough to touch the issues.
