Back in university my good friend and I would hang out in the dorm room, doing bong rips, and talking about our dream jobs.
At the top of the list was owning a cannabis shop.
I also enjoyed daydreaming about spending my job helping people get high, but fast forward twenty years, and that dream has finally become a charming new reality. A few of my seasoned university chums and I invested in a new cannabis dispensary. Now I get to finally spend my mornings behind the counter, weighing out grams of high-octane cannabis and helping people get legal medical marijuana. It genuinely is also a dream come true! It’s funny how your life experiences can change how you see something like marijuana. It used to be an interest, something fun to do with my pals, however now cannabis is my life and my job. The crucial question I get asked is “how does finally owning a cannabis dispensary influence how you actually get high?” Well, the largest thing that has changed is that I rarely smoke cannabis while in the daytime anymore. I used to start smoking marijuana as soon as I woke up, however no longer! When I finally get up I have some coffee and go straight to the cannabis dispensary to open for the day… Being totally stoned at labor is never a good thing, and when the manager of a cannabis dispensary is stoned on the job it makes the whole company look bad. My close friend and I are serious cannabis professionals, not another group of stoners, so my good friend and I need to act appropriately. Once I am done laboring for the day, then it’s time to start smoking cannabis.
