My miniature poodle recently turned fourteen years old.

He has been our family dog since my kids were very little.

He doesn’t hear or see as well as he used to. He was having issues with sore joints, muscles and teeth. I had to switch from dry dog food to the softer variety in the cans. I make sure to carry him up and down the stairs. When I took my poodle for his checkup, the vet suggested several different kinds of medicines. I looked them up and didn’t like the side effects. Since I’m careful about what I put into my body, I was reluctant to subject my dog to harmful synthetic medicines. I started looking for an alternative. I certainly didn’t want our family dog in pain. I came across several articles promoting cannabis for treating pain and inflammation. Not only have a lot of people found relief but there are success stories for dogs and cats as well. I learned that CBD is entirely safe for animals. Just like humans, dogs have an endocannabinoid system that is responsible for everything from pain to sleep, focus and mood. CBD is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that influences receptors in the endocannabinoid system, offering the potential of all sorts of medicinal benefits. I paid a visit to the local cannabis dispensary and was both surprised and impressed by the selection of products designed specifically for pets. I am able to purchase pet CBD tinctures, oils, capsules and a variety of treats. My poodle loves the treats. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in his level of activity and mobility. He no longer whimpers when he jumps up onto the couch. He is suddenly interested in playing fetch again.
