I met Eddy in college.

He was a protestor. He didn’t have a job, or go to school, he received money from a covert political group to travel around to college campuses and stage protests against various causes. I never even knew that was a real job someone could have! When I met Eddy he was in the Quad on campus, trying to collect signatures to put medical cannabis legalization on the ballot. I had a head full of marijuana smoke at the time, and was eager to sign the petition. Once I locked eyes with Eddy, I knew it wasn’t just the effects of cannabis, it was true love. Two weeks later I dropped out of college and went on the road with Eddy helping him organize cannabis rallies and protests at other schools. Eddy was so passionate about his cause of cannabis legalization and that was very attractive to me. It’s hard to find someone with that level of passion! Alas, Eddy was not as passionate about me as he was about cannabis. We split up for a while, and didn’t see each other again until we ran into each other at another cannabis rally some years later. Eddy was still passionate about cannabis, but he also missed me and wanted me back. Since cannabis had been legalized in our state, Eddy was a little more relaxed, and ready to settle down and start a family. It’s not exactly a fairy tale, but I’ll take it.
